Turn on developer mode
In ChatGPT on the web (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu), open Settings → Plugins → Developer mode and switch the toggle on.

Add the LeadMarina connector
Still under Settings → Plugins, select the plus button and create an app: name it LeadMarina, set the URL to https://leadmarina.com/api/mcp, choose OAuth, and sign in. Dynamic client registration means there are no keys to paste.

Ask for leads
In a new chat, pick Developer mode from the plus menu, select LeadMarina, and prompt: "Use LeadMarina's search_leads tool to find roofers in Phoenix." Filter the results free with query_leads.

Export and repeat
Connect Close, GoHighLevel, or Google Sheets in the LeadMarina dashboard first — for Close, run one manual Export → Close in the web app to create the saved field mapping. Then approve the export_leads confirmation to send leads there or as emailed CSV/Excel/JSON, and set repeat schedules (daily through yearly) in the LeadMarina web app.

Does the LeadMarina connector work on ChatGPT Free?+
No. Custom MCP connectors require developer mode, which OpenAI offers on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Edu accounts on the web. LeadMarina's own free plan (100 leads) works fine once connected — and LeadMarina's REST API is on every plan if you're not on a paid ChatGPT plan.
Do I paste an API key into ChatGPT?+
No. Choose OAuth when creating the app. LeadMarina supports OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, so ChatGPT registers itself and you simply sign in and approve. API-key headers exist for other MCP clients.
Can I search multiple cities in one prompt?+
Each search_leads call via MCP takes one city, so ask for one city per search. Bulk multi-city searches — up to 250 cities in one run — are a search feature of the LeadMarina web app.
Do I need to set anything up before exporting from ChatGPT?+
Connect Close, GoHighLevel, or Google Sheets in the LeadMarina dashboard before using those destinations from chat. For Close, run one manual Export → Close in the LeadMarina web app first — that first export creates the saved field mapping, which every export from ChatGPT then reuses. Emailed CSV/Excel/JSON exports need no setup.
Will ChatGPT export to my CRM without asking?+
No. Developer mode treats export_leads as a write action: ChatGPT shows the full JSON payload and waits for your approval. You can have it remember the approval within a conversation; new chats reset it.
Can I use it in a ChatGPT Business workspace?+
Yes. A workspace owner enables developer mode, and admins can review LeadMarina's actions in Workspace settings → Apps, restrict actions to read-only or a custom set, and publish the connector for the whole workspace.
Does deep research pull from LeadMarina?+
Deep research sources connectors that expose search and fetch tools and only uses read actions. LeadMarina's seven tools are built for regular chats in developer mode — run searches and exports in a standard conversation.
