Close integration

One-click exports into Close: auto-created custom fields, saved mapping, update-in-place.

LeadMarina delivers fully verified local-business leads directly into Close — no CSV files to shuttle, no importer options screen, no field-formatting rules. Run a search by niche and city (up to 30 cities in one bulk search), and the results land in your Close organization as Leads your team can filter into Smart Views, call through the Power Dialer, or enroll in Workflows.

What arrives in Close

Close's top-level object is the Lead — the company-level record that Contacts, Opportunities, and activities live under. LeadMarina's unit of delivery lines up with that model: one fully verified local business per lead. Every business you export includes:

  • Up to 3 emails, each SMTP-checked and labeled safe, risky, or invalid
  • Up to 3 phone numbers with line type (mobile, landline, VoIP, or toll-free) and carrier
  • Owner name, where identifiable
  • Social profiles: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok, and Yelp
  • Ratings, reviews, and the full business profile from Google business listings data

LeadMarina also creates a Contact under each delivered Lead carrying the business's phones and emails, so Close's built-in calling, SMS, and email have a native person record to act on — and contact-based Smart Views can sort by the contact's local time, inferred from the phone number. The Contact is create-only: LeadMarina writes it once on first delivery and never modifies it afterward.

Connecting Close

Choose Close as the export destination for any search and authorize via OAuth — there is no API key to copy. Close supports OAuth connections on all of its plans.

Field mapping (first export only)

Your first Close export opens a field-mapping dialog:

  • Columns with a native Close equivalent map to Close's built-in fields.
  • Everything else — verification labels, line types, carriers, owner name, socials, ratings, reviews — maps to Custom Fields that LeadMarina creates automatically, named after LeadMarina's columns.

There is nothing to pre-build under Settings → Customizations → Custom Fields, and none of the custom.-prefixed header conventions Close's Lead Importer expects. The mapping is saved for every future export and tracked by Close field ID, not field name — rename a field inside Close and the sync keeps writing to it. Every Close plan includes 250 Custom Fields, so a LeadMarina connection fits comfortably alongside your existing setup.

Working the leads inside Close

Everything LeadMarina writes is filterable, which is exactly what Smart Views — Close's saved, shareable searches — are built for:

  • Calling view: filter the line-type field to *mobile*, save the Smart View, and select Call to start a Power Dialer session. The Power Dialer re-checks its Smart View every 5 minutes or less, so leads from a scheduled LeadMarina delivery slot into a live session automatically. (The Power Dialer requires Close's Growth or Scale plan; the Predictive Dialer is Scale only.) Contact-based views can even sort by the contact's local time, inferred from the phone number.
  • Email view: filter the email-verification field to *safe* before a bulk email send or Workflow enrollment, keeping risky and invalid addresses away from your sender reputation.
  • Owner outreach: filter on the owner-name field to build a view of businesses where LeadMarina identified the actual owner.

For automation, Close Workflows (Growth and Scale plans) trigger on Lead events — so a Workflow scoped to leads carrying a LeadMarina field can sequence email, SMS, and call Tasks the moment a scheduled delivery lands.

Update-in-place: what re-exports do (and never do)

Every export is matched on a stable Google business identifier:

  • Re-running a search — or letting a scheduled one repeat — updates the Leads LeadMarina already delivered, in place, with the latest data. It never creates duplicates of its own records.
  • User-created data is never touched. Notes, activities, and Custom Fields you created yourself stay exactly as they are; LeadMarina only writes to the fields it delivers.
  • The Contact under each Lead is create-only. LeadMarina writes it once at first delivery; later deliveries update the Lead's fields and never modify the Contact.
  • Leads that existed in Close before LeadMarina (manual entries, past CSV imports) are not matched by the identifier. If you suspect overlap with an old list, Close's duplicate detection and lead-merge tools are the right cleanup path.

Compare that with updating via Close's Lead Importer: choosing comparison fields, deciding between "only add missing information" and "replace lead information" (which Close warns cannot be undone), and re-uploading files under a 15MB cap. LeadMarina's export makes that decision structurally — its own fields refresh, yours don't.

Scheduling deliveries

Any LeadMarina search can run once, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly with Close as the destination. New businesses arrive as new Leads, verified on delivery; previously delivered businesses refresh in place with the latest data. A weekly "HVAC contractors — Phoenix" search feeding a calling Smart View is a self-restocking dial list.

API and MCP

The REST API is available on every LeadMarina plan, including free (bearer API keys). There is also an MCP server at https://leadmarina.com/api/mcp (streamable HTTP; OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration, or API-key headers) with 7 tools — including search_leads and export_leads — if you want a script or agent to run searches and push results to Close.

Notes and troubleshooting

  • Renamed a LeadMarina-created field in Close? Safe. The mapping tracks Close field IDs, so renames never break the sync or spawn parallel fields.
  • A business changed its phone or email between runs? The next delivery updates the lead in place with the latest data. New businesses appearing in a re-run are verified on delivery, like any first export.
  • Which Close plan do I need? Close offers API access with OAuth on all of its plans; Close's own gating still applies to what you do next — Workflows and the Power Dialer are Growth and Scale features, the Predictive Dialer is Scale.
  • What counts against my LeadMarina balance? One lead = one delivered, fully verified business. The free plan includes 100 leads; paid plans include 15,000, 65,000, or 240,000 leads per month.
